What actually connects
Once Deel Local Payroll is connected, employee records sync automatically every night — employee number, name, email, birthday, cell number, and photo, matched into your RibiRewards recipient list without anyone typing a staff list into a second system. Birthdays and upcoming events then show up directly on the Calendar, each with a suggested RewardsCard ready to send.
Why this matters more than it sounds
The actual failure mode in most manual recognition processes is not malice, it is simply drift — the spreadsheet gets out of date, someone leaves the company and their birthday still triggers a reminder, a new hire's details never get added because nobody remembered to. Automating the data layer removes the drift, not just the typing.
Termination handling works the same way in reverse: if someone no longer appears in your Deel Local Payroll data, their record deactivates immediately rather than continuing to trigger reminders for someone who no longer works there.
What's live today
Birthday-triggered gifting is fully live. Work anniversary and department-based sending are in active development — that data lives in a different part of Deel Local Payroll's API and needs its own extraction process, so it is being built as a genuinely separate phase rather than promised ahead of being real.
